Nenjah Nycist opens up this week’s list with the visuals for his song “Up Against.” A driving track that sees him collaborating with producer AUR and the result is a lyric dense piece ripe with evocative rhymes peppered by the rapper’s off-kilter style. Producer XL7 teams up with Dap for this feel-good love song titled “She Likes Me.” The track is quite engaging and sees the two emcees discuss women they like and vice versa. The lyrics are relatable, insightful, and hilarious as well.
The animated video makes for great viewing and has this 90s Nickelodeon aesthetic. The song appears on XL7’s Seeds album that came out in 2020.
