James Gardin gets introspective on “I Don’t Really like Where I’m At”

By teckzilla Word Is Bond

Rapper/Producer James Gardin delivers yet another solid soul-gripping self-produced record entitled “I Don’t Really like Where I’m At”. On his last single “Sad Black Boys” he talked about mental health in the black community which showed how he tackles less-talked about issues and on “I Don’t Really like Where I’m At” he keeps the energy going as he dives into depression. Backed by a mellow, nostalgia-inducing, horn-driven beat, he lets the listener know that he is down in the doldrums, not afraid to hide it but rather shares his feelings on wax as some form of therapeutic exercise.

He further adds that the song should afford you the chance to address your emotional status, express how unhappy you are about it and realize that change doesn’t come until we recognize the problem.
