Eminem attacks Donald Trump: ‘He’s got people brainwashed’

The rapper continues his stream of invective against the president in a new interview, saying his election was such a disappointment to me about the state of the country

Eminem has attacked President Trump in a new interview, saying: I get almost flustered thinking about him thats how angry he makes me.

In the interview with Vultures David Marchese, the rapper said Trump makes my blood boil … I want our country to be great too, I want it to be the best it can be, but its not going to be that with him in charge. He added that he initially thought that the billionaire businessman might be a fresh voice in US politics, but his opinion changed after Trumps infamous campaign speech in which he referred to Mexican immigrants as criminals and rapists. From that point on, I knew it was going to be bad with him. What hes doing putting people against each other is scary fucking shit. His election was such a disappointment to me about the state of the country.

The people that support him are the people he cares about the least and they dont even realise it, he added. Hes got people brainwashed.

The comments come after Eminem rapped a much-discussed freestyle at this years BET Hip-Hop awards, promising a fork and dagger in this racist 94-year-old grandpa as he took Trump to task over gun reform, his Twitter spats, his condemnation of the take a knee protests and his handling of hurricane emergency responses in Puerto Rico.

Eminems new album Revival also features attacks on Trump. One line reads this chump barely even sleeps / All he does is watch Fox News like a parrot and repeats, while another describes him as an Aryan who should prepare to get impeached.

The album, which has guest spots from Beyonc, Ed Sheeran, Pink and Alicia Keys, received mixed reviews, but is on course to top the charts in both the US and UK come the end of this week. It would be his eighth number one album in a row in the UK, a feat only matched by Led Zeppelin and Abba.

Elsewhere in the Vulture interview, he reveals that he finds his fourth album Encore mediocre, that hes taken to Tinder in the wake of his divorce, and that he regards his second album as his creative peak: I am forever chasing The Marshall Mathers LP. That was the height of what I could do. I just dont have the rage I did back then … The passion is still there but the rage mostly isnt. Unless were talking about Trump.
