Drake just absolutely smashed his own record with ‘More Life’

Aubreys done it again. According to Nielsen Music,DrakesMore Life, has broken the record for most single album streams in one week, with 385 million combined on-demand streams. That’s a lot of feelings.

He broke his own record, for 2016s Views, which debuted with 245 million streams.

The self-described playlist will debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200, having sold 505,000 equivalent albums (within the updated system that includes 257,000 units from streaming). More Life is the Toronto rapper and singers seventh album to debut at the top spot.

Not particularly strong individually or as a cohesive project, the album has mainlined high-end passive, elevator music into the ears of fans who are increasingly looking for an organized feeling or vibe. Its lightness, and comfort in openly appropriating and fusing island music, trap, and a newfound U.K. spiritco-opted from his grime friends, almost push Drake off his own record.

Yet Drake’s climb continues with another No. 1, which should take the sting off a recent roasting from Kendrick Lamar.

Here’s a video from Genius of all the samples used, with snippets:
