Eclectic Seattle artist Barrett Staples caught our attention with his new single “Roosta”. The soul/hip-hop infused record has a lively and nostalgic vibe while his smooth melodic flow is reminiscent of Domino and west coast emcees who employ subtle melodic runs to augment their raps. “Roosta” is an interesting offering that gives listeners a solid mix of reflective and bravado-laden lyrics. He also brings in fellow artists Your Friend Deej , Luvall and additional instrumentation/production by Elan Wright, Peter Agelo, Seth Michels & Randy Ross.
