“Growing up in a family where music was always in the background, I soaked up more than a handful of influences ranging from soul, pop, rock, and hip-hop,”
You actually hear that influence across PST89, a project that sounds like a polished version of someone mixing their favourite sounds together from their stacks of tapes and vinyl. There are callbacks to classic jams (the “Juicy Fruit” break on “Less Mondays, More Summer”), samples from more modern joints (the Fabolous bit at the end of “Summer Happiness”), and other nostalgic Easter eggs.
There’s also a surprising amount of emotion running through the four tracks on here. While the overall theme is hope, Teck-Zilla acknowledges that sometimes you can only reach joy by getting through harder times. So while the aptly titled “Summer Happiness” closes the EP on an upbeat note, there are solemn hints beneath the surface of joints like “1000 Lonely Summers” and “Less Mondays, More Summer.” But even then, there remains that strong feeling of optimism, that things will indeed get better.
While PST89 may not necessarily solve all the world’s issues, it is a wonderfully bright spot that we all could use—especially now. And the best part is that it arrives with the promise of more, similarly themed material from the producer. Yes, the sequel to Teck-Zilla’s stellar 2018 project, SummerZilla, is coming soon.
Since they’ve revealed their romance with the world, Lamar Odom and Sabrina Parr have been unashamedly sharing details of their relationship. Whether they’re giving insight into Lamar’s recovery from sex addiction or laying salacious rumors to rest, these two have no problem coming forward to speak about their life together. Sabrina has returned with a message, writing on her Instagram Story that all she has comes from her bank account, making it clear that Lamar isn’t her ATM.
“Here’s a little fact about me,” Sabrina began. “I will continue to live within MY means until I am married! Wherever I live or whatever I drive, I spend my own money on it and I make sure it’s something I can afford comfortably on my own and my name is included! Lamar and I are not married yet nor do we have children together. There are no guarantees in relationships and I never want to be in a position again where something happens and Im stuck financially.”
Sabrina added that even if Lamar decided to walk away from their relationship right now, it may be heartbreaking but she won’t take a financial hit. “Once we get married, he can spend away and imma put my coins up lol!” She advised women to follow in her footsteps and take care of themselves without relying on their partner’s help. Read through her message below.
Rock Mecca recruits more trained assassins to kill the track on the second installment of “Killa”. This time Rock is joined by legendary Brand Nubian emcee Sadat X, true school veteran Shabaam Sahdeeq and underground phenom Tha God Fahim on “Killa II” (Cypher At The Kumite). Produced by Jake Palumbo of SpaceLab Recordings, the posse cut is the closer on Rock’s EP, “FE26 the Ironsides“.
It’s difficult to lose a parent at any age, but Michael Joseph Jackson, Jr., or Prince, is hoping that he’s making his father proud. There are a number of famous faces lending their resources and platforms to help the less fortunate during this COVID-19 pandemic, including Prince Jackson whose charity, Heal Los Angeles, has teamed up with Fresh N Lean to distribute meals to those in need.
“I would like to think that [my dad would be] be very proud, because I think this was one of his main goals — not only to spread his message of positivity and happiness, but to see it enacted in his kids,” Prince shared with Entertainment Tonight. “As a father, I think that’s what you want to do when you raise kids. You’re preparing them for the world and the type of person they’re going to be.”
He also credits his upbringing for why he’s so actively involved with charitable work. “I’m very grateful that I have this feeling that it’s this collaborative ecosystem — we all need to help each other — and that came from the way that he raised us,” Prince added. “I was very fortunate to have him as a father. I had a lot of unique experiences growing up, and what I’m trying to do with my platform and the non-profit or the charity organization is to share those experiences.”

Rico Nasty recently introduced a new diet and fitness regime into her life, and she decided to show off the noticeable results of her new routine after just three weeks. While the rapper is already quite slim, it seems she wanted to gain some muscle and definition, so she opted to start working out more and eating healthier. On Thursday, Rico posted the latest update of her progress after starting her new fitness journey less than a month ago, and it looks like her hard work is starting to pay off.
“These pictures only 3 weeks apart fr,” Rico wrote on the post, showing her “before” and “after” bodies. “I only gained about 4lbs .. Shout out to @kacesters &&&& @workouts_by_katya for the workout plans workout gear and MEAL plans. I’m so excited to see the results when 8 weeks is over.” While the change isn’t drastic, there’s definitely some more definition on her abs, and she still has five weeks to go. Her good pal, A$AP Ferg, gave her some encouragement on the post, writing, “Keep it up,” with a flexed bicep emoji.
Rico’s been documenting her fitness journey in a series of earlier posts, as well. On Monday, she posted a photo of herself posing in the mirror with a protein shake, captioned, “MOOOOOD. Happy Monday drink your shakes do ya leg lifts dance in the mirror ect.”

Several weeks ago, 50 Cent said that he would rather call 6ix9ine his son before his own biological child Marquise Jackson. The disturbing comment rubbed people the wrong way and got them thinking about the nature of his relationship with the rainbow-haired Brooklyn rapper. During a new interview with Big Boy via video call, Fif cleared up the status of his relationship with 6ix9ine, noting that the two will likely never work together again.
“I wouldn’t work with him. What it is, is it’s just against the way I grew up,” said 50 Cent, shutting down any possible reconciliation. The two were formerly close friends, popping up on each other’s social media pages regularly.
He continued by stating that he understands why Tekashi told on his former associates, explaining that he doesn’t think it will hurt his career in the long run.
“Remember I told you I understood why he did what he did?” asked Fif. “When you say he’s not a gang member or he’s not this kinda guy, but you slept with his baby’s mother and you gonna do something to his mother—tell any traditional kid, tell actual consumers of music in middle America that’s gonna buy the actual CD, that hits the button—tell them that somebody slept with my girlfriend and had intentions of hurting my mom. And you want me to do 40 years for them?”
Fiddy has a good point. Shotti, Tekashi’s manager, was accused of sleeping with his daughter’s mother Sara Molina, which he references in the interview. However, people will still be angry at 69 for breaking street code.
