Never to shy away from any drama, Hazel-E hopped on Instagram and earlier today and started a new beef with City Girls. The former Love & Hip Hop star isn’t afraid to call out her fellow rappers no matter how big they might be. The emcee went on Instagram Live and shared that City Girls’ 2018 hit song “Act Up”—yes, the one Lil Yachty says he wrote most of—sounded a lot like one of her tracks titled “Actin’ Up” that she dropped in 2017.
Hazel-E was on Live with another person who was playing the tracks back to back and the two talked about how similar they were. Of course, someone screen recorded the session and it ended up in the hands of The Shade Room. After the publication shared the clip, followers gave their opinions about the brewing controversy, including one person who wrote: “Hit is a hit.” Yung Miami felt the need to respond because she wanted to make it clear that things aren’t as they seem.
“We never heard a song by the ugly ass b*tch!!!!!” she wrote. “That surgery going to that hoe head!!!” Hazel-E uploaded a screenshot of her albums and songs on her Instagram page, captioning the photo by writing, “People be mad asf at the truth 🤷🏽♀️ @girlcodeinc it’s been my lifestyle. Periodt in my @citygirls voice.”
Take a listen to both tracks for yourself and let us know if you hear any similarities.

John Singleton’s efforts have left a long-lasting impact in the film industry. The trailblazing director died at the age of 51 yesterday after suffering from a stroke earlier this month. Singleton’s directorial debut was Boyz N The Hood, a unique coming-of-age tale of a boy in South Central Los Angeles navigate his way through challenges in the inner-city. It was met with immediate praise from critics and consumers alike, leading Singleton to become the youngest and first African-American to get nominated for Best Director. Earlier today, the director was remembered by the former POTUS who penned a short, but meaningful, tribute on Twitter.
Singleton’s contributions to film undoubtedly opened the doors for more people of color who strived be make it in Hollywood. Obama thanked the late-director for his efforts which ultimately helped a new generation of filmmakers to tell their own stories.
“Condolences to the family of John Singleton. His seminal work, Boyz n the Hood, remains one of the most searing, loving portrayals of the challenges facing inner-city youth. He opened doors for filmmakers of color to tell powerful stories that have been too often ignored,” Obama wrote.
Singleton’s efforts to bring the Black experience to the mainstream wasn’t solely done in Boyz N The Hood but also, in many of his subsequent efforts from Rosewood to Higher Learning and Poetic Justice.
Berner is readying yet another project which is set to drop very soon. The rapper’s been consistently delivering new music over the years at a frequent pace. Earlier this year, he teamed up with fellow California native Mozzy for their collaborative effort, Slimey Individuals which hailed major features outside of the Taylor Gang conglomerate. As he readies the release of El Chivo which arrives next week, he unleashes a new single with Wiz Khalifa and Chevy Woods.
Berner keeps his latest track, “Wassup” a strictly Taylor Gang affair. The rapper links up with Wiz Khalif and Chevy Woods for the track which finds them hopping on production that’s reminiscent of the Cabin Fever tapes. Berner’s new single follows the release of his 4/20 anthem “Get Rich Or Die Smokin.”
Wiz and Chevy make additional appearances on El Chivo. Wiz Khalifa joins Berner “Do What We Want” while Chevy joins Berner and Majix on “Sit Down.’

Rapper/songwriter KVtheWriter shares a heartfelt story on her new song titled “Snow Factory”. Over a dreamy, ethereal soundscape she delivers a solid performance that showcases her unorthodox style and approach. The alternative RnB track talks about a break up in an ice cream store. Pretty offbeat but very engaging to be honest. This is the second single off the upcoming EP set to release on April 30th “Love Sucks!”

Who doesn’t love Seth Rogen and his bud-smoking ways? The Long Shot star recently stopped by The Late Show With Stephen Colbert to talk shop, and it didn’t take long before the conversation shifted toward marijuana. “I smoke weed all day every day of my life,” Rogen admits. When Colbert asks if that extends to his professional career, Rogen nods profusely. “Oh, for the last 20 years exclusively!” Though he reveals he occasionally feels like a disassociated “viewer” on set, few can deny his formula has yielded success thus far.
“I do actually enjoy weed in my personal life and on film,” affirms Seth. “Any movie we see you in, there’s a fairly good chance you’re high.” “There’s one hundred percent, yes,” says Rogen. He also laments on a few missed chances in almost meeting Beyonce, a quest he’s been pursuing for the past eleven years. “I was close to meeting her eleven years ago at the Grammys,” he says. “I was introducing Eminem, who was performing – he asked me to introduce him, and when Eminem asks you to do anything you say yeah, because you don’t want to piss him off!”
“I was backstage at the Grammys, I was nervous, and I was drinking as I tended to do at the time,” he continues. “I saw Beyonce and Gwenth Paltrow floating toward me backstage, they had no feet, they were gliding around.” Unfortunately, his approach was thwarted by a security guard, who extended a baseball-bat-like arm in Rogen’s direction. “He knocked me aside with such force I spilled my drink all over myself, and then I had to present. When I present, I’m standing funny because I spilled a drink all over myself because of Beyonce’s security guard.”
Following a recent report that Coachella led to a spiked increase in reported herpes cases, it would appear that the Stagecoach Fesitval has suffered a similar fate. Once again, TMZ has cited the HerpAlert website as a means of tallying their data, reporting an increase in people seeking treatment for the pesky STD. While the sources at HerpAlert indicate the reported outbreak was not as bad as it was at Coachella, TMZ claims that a hefty 114 cases were reported across Palm Desert, Coachella Valley and Indio, coinciding with the Stagecoach Country Music Festival.
While it’s easy to picture the Festival Grounds as being a haven for the “free-spirited,” it’s difficult to assess whether TMZ’s reports are one hundred percent accurate. The Riverside County Health Department claims that neither their labs nor their STD programs have experienced any particular volume spike, though TMZ counters by saying some of Herp’s data might have been for existing, perscription-seeking patients. The skepticism was echoed by Cita Walsh, spokesperson for Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest, who didn’t appear to notice any “measurable increase.”
In any case, a strange narrative is in the process of building, painting Festivals as a breeding ground for Herpes. Regardless, there remains a valuable lesson to be learned amidst the speculation. Don’t be a fool, wrap your tool, or insert idiom here. Otherwise, you could be next to have “the gift that keeps on giving” bequeathed unto you.
We’re admittedly a little late on this one. With all of the smoke in the air on 4/20, somehow he didn’t update you guys with the latest Eric Bellinger song and for that, we apologize. The established singer was very much feeling the spirit of the unofficial holiday, dropping a weed-inspired new song that is disguised as a love song.
We’re used to hearing sensual bangers from Bellinger and this is no different. He sings about a special lady in his life who was invited over to his crib, asking to smoke with him even though she usually doesn’t consume any cannabis. As always, the artist wants all the smoke and he decided to give back to all his stoner fans with one just for them. Check out Bellinger’s latest release below.
