Singer FXXXY has returned with a new track, hopping over a piano backdrop to deliver on the process of loving oneself in the midst of a breakup as he sings of the struggle of reminiscing on a relationship gone wrong and battling the decision of returning to toxicity or putting himself first.
The new cut follows up on the Gunna-assisted “Need U,” and precedes the full-length project that fans currently await of FXXXXY.
“I think my whole point of making music right now is based around Self Care,” the Interscope signee tells ELEVATOR. “I’m either showing the extreme lack of self-care or I’m being conscious of it but it’s always been a shadow in my work.”
Quotable Lyrics
Thank you so much for giving me these regrets
Thank you very much for taking advantage of a n-gga who took a chance on you
That’s the part I really love best.”
Sunday afternoon (March 31st) Nipsey Hussle was shot and killed outside of his Los Angeles Marathon clothing store. The rapper was reportedly shot along with two other men, with Nip being the only one not to make it out alive.
Naturally, such news has sent a wave of shock and ultimate heartbreak throughout the hip-hop community and beyond. Neighborhood Nip is survived by longtime girlfriend and actress Lauren London and his children. Since news arrived of his tragic passing, his peers and supports have poured out tributes to mourn and celebrate the emcee, who earned a GRAMMY nomination this year for his Victory Lap opus.
Among those paying tribute include Drake who took to Instagram to reveal that he and Nipsey were finally planning to get into the studio after so long.
“My whole energy is just at a low right now hearing this,” penned Drake in an Instagram post. “We just linked for the first time in years and said we were gonna do a new song this summer cause it had been too long.”
Prior to his death, Nipsey Hussle was effectively establishing himself as a force beyond music, speaking loudly and prominently within his city, well-known for being a community organizer and was also working on a documentary about Dr. Sebi, known for his claims of discovering the cure to HIV/AIDS. Sebi died under mysterious circumstances in 2016.
NBC News has reported that Nipsey Hussle has been identified as the victim who has died after a fatal shooting took place outside of the rapper’s store in Los Angeles Sunday afternoon.
As previously reported, the Victory Lap emcee was shot in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Los Angeles outside of his clothing store along with two other victims.
Graphic shots on social media display law enforcement attempting to revive a man who appears to be wounded in the head with a towel covering his face. The victim was wearing the same outfit that Nipsey was spotted wearing just moments before in a photo with a young fan.
Prior to the shooting, the rapper tweeted out an eerie message writing “

Nipsey, born Ermias Asghedom, is survived by his longtime girlfriend Lauren London, his children, and a legion of fans and supporters within the hip-hop community and beyond. Our deepest sympathies, thoughts and prayers are with Nipsey’s family and team at this time.
The arresting details behind Kizz Daniel’s “Fvck You” have become all the rage in Nigeria. The song’s message, although cryptic, has given rise to the #fvckyouchallenge, akin to reactionary movements like the “Who Run It” challenge, or the recent spillover created by Blueface’s “Thotiana.”
In this case, Kizz Daniel’s artistic goals manifested themselves into a nationwide contest of “He Said, She Said,” with top tier talents like Tiwa Savage, Davido, Dremo, and Skiibii piping back with their own renditions of “Fvck You.”
Controversy seems to follow associated with Kizz wherever he goes. You could even argue that Daniel is to Afrobeats what Soulja Boy is to contemporary hip-hop in America, although the comparison falls flat once you delve into the music itself.
Therein lies the issue: a vast majority of the genre’s fans think Tiwa Savage’s audio response to Kizz, defies the spirit of the challenge by getting too personal. Even Davido’s version of “Fvck You” goes to certain lengths to cover up names and details. In any case, Kizz’s original is a good place to begin the survey.

Unlike 2017’s Reckless, Nav’s latest project Bad Habits is still gaining some serious attention a week after its release. The rapper’s new project arrived four months after he announced his “retirement” in solidarity with Lil Uzi Vert. Bad Habits found Nav returning to the original sound that initially helped him gain the recognition of XO. A week after its release, and Nav’s officially scored the number one album in the country.
It’s a big day for Nav as he’s topped the Billboard 200 with his latest project. Bad Habits officially earned the #1 spot after moving 82K equivalent album units in his first week. 24K of those come from traditional sales. While the project initially dropped on Friday, the rapper/producer released a deluxe edition a few days later which included three new songs and the Brown Boy EP.
It looks like a lot of Nav’s dreams came true within the span of a week. The rapper opened about his longing for fame in a recent interview, claiming that if TMZ starts taking his picture, “it must mean my album went number one and I’m getting more money.” TMZ later approached Nav a few days after the interview was published and now, he’s landed the number one album in the country.
We’ll see what Nav has up his sleeves next. Do you think he could top the success of Bad Habits? Sound off in the comments.
Jim Carrey’s bizarre worldview is ultimately informed by long stretches of cabin fever. In that regard, Saturday afternoon was like any other for Jim Carrey, especially as it pertained to his social media musings. At 1 pm, Jim Carrey Time, something compels him to post a caricature of Mussolini. Bear in mind, Benito Mussolini is essentially Italy’s least beloved dictator, a historically relevant authoritarian, yes – but not somebody that is spoken about all too often in contemporary culture.
The image he posted places Mussolini and his mistress Clara Petacci at the scene of their final execution in 1945. If I understand Jim Carrey correctly, he’s attempting a historical line of succession for Fascism, which incidentally pairs up nicely with his anti-Right wing politics, the likes of which manifest into daily outbursts of no consequence to anyone but himself. Except, in this case, the Mussolini Tweet would finally present him with the opportunity he always relished: a Nazi-hunting expedition or the next best thing.
Yada yada yada… Carrey’s Tweet reaches Mussolini’s granddaughter of all people. The actor probably thought he was attacking such a reviled character would be a safe bet, and to be honest, that makes sense. So basically, Alessandra Mussolini responds by calling Carrey a bastard, but then it gets kind of weird.
Nationalism gets implicated in the discussion and all of Mussolini’s granddaughter, herself a politician (weird) is picking apart the problematic history of White America, including a post where she uses “Rosa Parks” as an argumentative point. Just another Saturday afternoon, nothing to report here.
