15 sexy TV shows on Netflix with plenty of soft porn

Sex on television is complicated. It was 1963, on an episode of Bewitched, before two actors who werent married to one another in real life were shown in a single bed. Nudity didnt hit broadcast TV until NYPD Blue in 1993, and many viewers were outraged. Thanks to cable, such issues are largely a thing of the past, opening the floodgates to high-concept adult TV with sexual themes.

Netflix, with its original series and massive streaming library, has become a repository for the best and sexiest TV showsaround. Since we’ve already dug up the best porn on Netflixwhen it comes to movies, we decided to do the same for the hottest shows on the streaming service. And it turns out there’s plenty to keep you occupied. You just need to be careful which profile you use when you adjust your Netflix queue accordingly.

Netflix porn: The 15 sexiestshowsstreaming

1)The L Word

Screengrab via Netflix

Including The L Word on a list of the steamiest shows on Netflix feels a bit regressive. When it debuted in 2004, The L Word was the first TV show to focus entirely on a group of queer women, making it a historically important show on top of just being a damn good one. While understandably criticized for mostly focusing on conventionally beautiful and skinny cis white women, The L Word also holds the distinction of showing the wildly nuanced world of lesbian sex in a way that traditionally heteronormative movies and series havent. Despite what media directed by straight men has taught us, lesbian sex is not monolithic, and The L Word explored a broad range of its nuances. The result is an intensely erotic soap opera, with characters youll fall in love with and betrayals that hurt. Just dont judge it too harshly for the last season.

2)Sense8

When it comes to Netflix series, few have the genre pedigree of Sense8. The brainchild of Babylon 5s J. Michael Straczynski andMatrix creators the Wachowskis, this sci-fi tale follows a group of psychics whose powers are suddenly activated one day without warning. These eight people share a consciousness, helping each other out while trying to avoid the horrific villain they know as the Whispers. At times this incredibly high-concept show can get confusing, but its sex scenes are staggeringly hot. Sense8 has won awards for its representation of LGBTQ characters, and its love scenes are rightly diverse, mixing race and gender in a way thats rare in episodic television. By the end of the series, youll be stunned to discover yourself getting turned on by the idea of people having sex through their thoughts. Yes, its weird; its also 100percent worth your time.

3)Shameless

Screengrab via Netflix

Shameless is a dark comedy, anchored by incredible performances from William H. Macy and Emmy Rossum, and a steady stream of sex scenes. Macy stars as Frank Gallagher, a single father of six kids and an alcoholic. His eldest daughter Fiona, played by Rossum, does her best to hold the family together with hysterical and occasionally heartbreaking results. It may not sound like an erotic story, but tell that to the people who compile each seasons sex scenes on sites like Pornhub to watch later. Dont just look it up online. Sex is always hotter when you know the backstory, and Shameless will leave you howling with laughter in between making you think sexy thoughts.

4)Ingobernable

House of Cards may be everyones favorite political Netflix show, but Ingobernable is the services sexiest. This high-production soap revolves around the first lady of Mexico as she tries to discover who framed her for the death of her abusive husband. At times brutally violent,Ingobernable isnt always an easy watch, but when it punctuates its intrigue-filled melodrama with passionately directed love scenes, its easy to get lost in the moment. Episode 10s tryst in the bathtub would already be legendary if this were an English-language show, and you get a fully formed political drama on top of all the sexiness.

5)The Tudors

Screengrab via Netflix

Henry the VIII had six wives and a seemingly never-ending series of concubines. The 16th century was not a terribly politically correct place, but based onThe Tutors, it was a terribly sexy one in between all of the executions. Over the course of four seasons, viewers get to follow Henry and his seemingly unquenchable lust, as the king tries to hold his domain together while fighting to build his legacy. Jonathan Rhys Meyers is a stunningly handsome man, giving the loathsomeking a sensuality that cuts through his horrific actions. Game of Thrones Natalie Dormer shines as Anne Boleyn, though sadly history necessitated her only appearing in a few seasons. If you think Game of Thrones is sexy but wish it was rooted more deeply in reality, The Tudors will become a fast friend.

6)Queer as Folk

Screengrab via Netflix

Queer as Folk was a precursor to The L Word, debuting four years earlier and becoming the first hour-long drama in American history to focus on LGBTQ characters. Starting off following the lives of five gay men living in Pittsburgh, the series dealt with substantial, complicated issues from coming out, gay adoption, HIV, and closeted priests, among a host of other topics. It also featured the first simulated sex scene between two men on American TV. Brash, funny, and often heartbreaking,Queer as Folk is an interesting show to revisit 17 years after its debut. Much has changed in America since it premiered, but many of the issues the show deals with remainall too pertinent.

7)Skins

Screengrab via Netflix

Finally, a show that answers the question What would Degrassi be like if TV censors let them go there? This long-running and controversial U.K. soap tones down its on-screen sexual content after the first two seasons but keeps a healthy sense of sexuality even in its milder years. Zooming wildly from young adult issues like dysfunctional family lives and religious challenges to gender and substance abuse, Skins occasionally feels like an after-school special that got into its parents’ liquor cabinet. Still, its a very entertaining one that often has more in common with Fast Times at Ridgemont High than My So-Called Life.

8)Californication

Screengrab via Netflix

Showtimes hit comedy Californication is sort of a sex addiction-fueled cousin to Curb Your Enthusiasm, full of morally repugnant characters youll want to follow anyway. David Duchovny stars as Hank Moody, a novelist who moves to Los Angeles when the film rights to one of his books are purchased. Struggling to juggle writers block, a steady stream of women, and his life as a single father, Hank consistently finds himself sabotaged by his arrogance. Duchovnys hysterically charming performance anchors the series, giving him humanity even when his libido gets him in trouble. If you removed the graphic sex, this show could be a hit on A&E. Of course, each episode would also be five minutes shorter.

9)The Borgias

Screengrab via Netflix

If The Sopranos were the aspirational crime family of the ’00s, the Borgias held the title for the 15th century. One held an empire of waste management, and the other became the pope. The Borgias is a ruthless historical drama, rooted in murder and religious corruption in the name pursuing power. Theres also plenty of beautifully shot sex scenes. Just be aware the series eventually starts to explore the concept of incest, though Game of Thrones made it clear thats not a deal-breaker for many viewers.

10)Hemlock Grove

Screengrab via Netflix

Of all the titles on this list, Hemlock Grove is easily the weirdest. Vampire incest? Yep. A vampire who gets aroused by the sight of a feminine product in someones purse? It goes there. A werewolf who lets his face get eaten off for the greater good? Heres a heads up if yougetqueasy. Hemlock Grove isnt afraid to be itself, that’s for sure. This hypergraphic tale of creatures that go bump and grind in the night never takes itself too seriously, so while it may be a bloodbath, the showrunners remember to keep things fun. Just keep an open mind. Sometimes vampires want to have sex in a room full of blood bags.

11)Lost Girl

Screengrab via Netflix

Lost Girl features no real nudity, but its still easily one of the sexiest shows on Netflix. This Canadian production is the first television show about a succubus, or a supernatural creature who feeds on the sexual energy of humans. Traumatized by her first sexual experience, which took the life of her teenage boyfriend, Bo goes on the run, slowly learning about her history and the secret supernatural world that is her birthright. Lost Girls sex scenes dont feature nudity, thanks to passionate performances and great direction. This LGBTQ-friendly slice of supernatural mystery has a little something for everyone, and you wont have to worry about your roommates walking in and thinking youre watching porn.

12)The Client List

Screengrab via Netflix

Jennifer Love Hewitt has had a prodigious career, handily moving from the silver screen to television with ease, but The Client List is an anomaly in her largely wholesome resume. Starring as a single mom who works at a massage parlor, Love Hewitts portrayal of Riley Parks is humorous and surprisingly nuanced for a Lifetime soap. Pushing the limits of what TV-14 can show, The Client List is a perfect guilty pleasure for viewers seeking an erotic thrill without showing too much of the graphic stuff. Beware, the show was canceled after two seasons and ends on a cliffhanger. If that bothers you, theres always fan fiction online, though it isnt as restrained in its sexuality as the show.

13)Being Mary Jane

Screengrab via Netflix

BETs romantic hit drama has quickly built a fiercely loyal following with its intricate love triangles and Gabrielle Unions layered performance as Mary Jane Parker, a successful cable news anchor trying to figure out whats missing in her perfect life. The show juggles heavy themes and sensuality with ease, devoting equal time to building sexy romances and asking questions about what it means to be a modern black woman in America. Mary Jane is a sexually confident and professional woman, able to claim what she wants while still making a point to talk with partners about getting tested. Its interesting in the usually hedonistic world of TV dramas to see a show this hot be so straightforwardabout the real-world issues surrounding sexuality. Dont worry: It regularly follows its heavy moments with lots of heavy breathing.

14)Weeds

Screengrab via Netflix

This pitch-black comedy about a suburban California single mother who starts dealing pot to make ends meet isnt for the faint of heart. If Breaking Bad tried harder to make you laugh, youd end up with Weeds. But for some viewers, the wildly swinging tone, especially in the later seasons, is hard to deal with. Mary-Louise Parkers performance as Nancy is jaw-dropping, pouring humanity into a character who is often intensely unlikable. Nancy uses sex to distract herself when things get stressful, and while its not a healthy coping mechanism, the scenes themselves are beautifully shot and, almost always, erotic. Few shows combine tension and humor with the grace of Weeds, and its well worth your time if you can accept you arent always meant to like the main character.

15)Marco Polo

Screengrab via Netflix

When asked by the Hollywood Reporter to describe Netflixs original series Marco Polo, star Lorenzo Richelmy said, The show is sexy, and of course a bit violent, but the real aim of the show is to make you feel horny about history. Richelmy is onto something. Over the shows two seasons,Marco Polo has shown a remarkable detail for history, from its gorgeous recreation of the court of Kublai Khan to its casting of actual Mongolians to play Mongolian roles. That last one shouldnt be remarkable, but it is. Lest you worry youre just in for a stuffy history lesson, Marco Polo is a remarkably violent and sexual series, full of graphic nudity and sex scenes. Thats right: Its steamy and educational.
